Besan Laddoo - Festive Treat

Yet another classic and very very easy to make sweet. Its amazing how this is a no-fuss, non time consuming sweet. Another specialty of my Aunt B.

2 cups gramflour,
1 cup ghee,
1 cup powdered sugar,
1 tsp cardamom powder,
1 tbsp chopped almonds, lightly roasted in ghee

  1. Sift the gramflour and set it aside.
  2. In a big heavy bottomed kadhai/pan, heat 2-3 tablespoons of ghee. Once the ghee has melted and reached a smoking point, add the gramflour slowly.
  3. Roast the gramflour until golden brown on low heat while stirring continuously.
  4. Keep adding ghee as required. The mixture will seem unmanageable in the beginning and have lumps that need to be smoothened.
  5. Once the mixture starts leaving ghee, add a tablespoon of milk and turn off the heat.
  6. Add cardamom powder and keep the mixture aside to cool.
  7. Once the mixture has cooled, add powdered sugar along with chopped almonds and with a spatula mix well until you can mould it into a laddoo.
  8. Make equal sized laddoo's and store in an airtight container.

Enjoy :-)
